The Hermit's Tarot

Legacy Edition Number Cards

The number cards in The Hermit's Tarot Legacy Edition depict the suit symbols in array, decorated with a colored floral motif. The meanings assigned to the suits and numbers are different from those used in the Luminary edition: they are less metaphysical, more practical and manageable. They are not entirely alien to the other set of meanings, though, and I have preserved the color-coding for the numbers to suggest the sephiroth on the Tree of Life.

I find this system of keywords works very effectively for me with other decks, such as Tarot of Marseilles and the early Italian decks, that do not have scenes on the pip cards.

The matrix below shows the appropriate keywords. All the cards of a given rank are shown together on a single page. Thus, to view card images and meanings, click on the number entry in the leftmost column.
