Justice

Justice strives to keep the universe in equilibrium or balance. She discriminates impartially and fairly and has the ability to see both sides of an issue. She holds a sword in her right hand, the hand of conscious action, symbolizing rational discrimination and intellectual strength. The two edges symbolize retribution and defense. The blade of gold shows noble purpose. In her left hand, Justice holds two cups joined by a beam, used as a mechanical means of balance further tempered by the use of the sword. I have chosen to place the beam of the scale of justice upon the symbol of the world, indicating my concern with the ecology of our universe. The green color of the world indicates the ground upon which we stand, and the blue indicates the air that we breathe.
